Judging by this new teaser trailer for Freeform’s Siren, this isn’t the typical mermaid we all think of!
In the new teaser, we at first see a gorgeous creature swimming through the ocean and it looks picture perfect. That is until we see more of her included her barbed tail and razor-sharp teeth and nails.
Siren takes us inside Bristol Cove—a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaims their right to the ocean.
The series follows Ben, a bright marine biologist who finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl Ryn, who is a strange young woman with a deep dark secret. Then there’s Maddie, who works with Ben as a marine biologist but is highly suspicious of the new girl; Xander, a deep-sea fisherman on a quest to uncover the truth; and Helen, the town eccentric who seems to know more about the mermaids than she lets on.
Starring Alex Roe (The 5th Wave), Eline Powell (Game of Thrones), Fola Evans-Akingbola (An American Exorcism), Ian Verdun (Life’s a Drag) and Rena Owen (Star Wars II & III).
