Travel Back To 1930s Hollywood in ‘The Last Tycoon’ Trailer

Get ready for some Old Hollywood glamour because Amazon Prime has released the first trailer for their upcoming series, The Last Tycoon!

The series is an adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s final novel, The Last Tycoon, which was loosely based on the life of American film producer Irving Thalberg. Illuminating the passions, violence and towering ambition of 1930s Hollywood, the adaption follows Monroe Stahr, Hollywood’s Golden Boy as he battles father figure and boss Pat Brady for the soul of their studio. When a young Irish waitress catches his eye. he realizes her spark just might be the fuel he needs to create a truly great and important film in his quest for power. In a world darkened by the Depression and the growing influence of Hitler’s Germany.

Originally the pilot episode premiered in July 2016 on Amazon Prime in hopes of getting picked up, and thankfully it did because the first trailer looks divine! If you wish to whet your appetite, the pilot episode is still available to watch on the streaming service which is available in various countries.

Starring Matt Bomer (White Collar), Lily Collins (City of Bones), Kelsey Grammer (Frasier), Dominique McElligott (House of Cards) and Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land).

The remaining eight episodes of The Last Tycoon will premiere July 28 on Amazon Prime.
