The Unfortunate ‘Lemony Snicket’ Netflix Series is Finally Here!

Netflix drops its latest most unfortunate series today, on Friday 13th.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is based on the book series by Daniel Handler under the pen name, Lemony Snicket. The first book was published in 1999 and the series consists of 13 books. A film adaption was also released in 2004, starring Jim Carrey and Emily Browning.

The series follows the three Baudelaire children — Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes), and baby Sunny (Presley Smith) — after the loss of their parents in a mysterious fire. The children are then sent to live with their closest relative, the awful Count Olaf, played by Neil Patrick Harris. Throughout the series, the children face trials and tribulations in an attempt to uncover their dark family secrets.

Throughout the show, the events the children face are recounted by Snicket himself, played by Patrick Warburton.

Check out Neil Patrick Harris sing the series’ theme song and warning viewers to ‘look away’ from this most dreadful show.
