The first trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp promise plenty of shrinking, action and quips in the newly released trailer!
Set as a sequel to the 2015’s Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp once again will see Paul Rudd suit up as the mighty, but shrinking superhero Ant-Man. However, this time he will be joined by Evangeline Lilly, who’ll be joining in on the action as Wasp. Also returning is Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, the inventor of the shrinking technology that gives both Ant-Man and the Wasp their powers. Michael Peña will also return as Ant-Man’s scene-stealing star Luis.
The new film will see the Pym’s on the run as they are being hunted by the FBI. One particularly cool moment from the trailer sees Hank Pym press a button to shrink an office building, pulls up a suitcase-style handle and takes it with him. While this is straight out of the comics, it’s amusing to see it come to life.
The Quantum Zone will also be a key player in the plot for this film, along with a peek at the film’s key villain Ghost and it’s possible his powers are links to the Quantum Zone.
Despite the fact that this film will be coming out after Avengers: Infinity War, it seems the film will fall into place after Captain America: Civil War, but before Avengers: Infinity War. This is a little strange for Marvel to depart from its mostly linear timeline that it has followed for all these years.
The film stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, who will both be starring in Avengers: Infinity War. The film also stars Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfieffer, Judy Greer (Jurassic World), Hannah John-Kamen (Killjoys), and Walton Goggins (Justified).
Ant-Man and The Wasp is scheduled for release on July 6th.
